Erin Schwab

Director of First Impressions

Erin is a native to Kansas City and takes great pride in her roots. After earning her bachelor's degree in Family Studies and Human Services from Kansas State University, she embarked on a diverse professional path over the last 25 years. In her free time, Erin enjoys attending sports events and spending quality moments with her husband and son. With a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and fostering personal connections with each patient, she thrives in her role as Director of First Impressions at FACE Leawood.

 

Tess Asher

Director of Communications

Tess relocated to Kansas City in 2020 from rural Missouri. Having a solid foundation in the clinical and surgical field, a passion for women’s leadership, and love for cosmetic practices, she is eager to integrate these elements into her role at FACE Leawood. She serves as the main contact for patients who connect through phone, email, or our text line. With a bright smile and joyful spirit, Tess cultivates meaningful interactions, ensuring that both new and returning patients feel welcomed and valued. She is committed to providing clear, prompt, and informative communication. When out of the office, Tess can be found at the dog park, local coffee shops or traveling to a new destination.

Colleen Herring

Nurse & Integrated Clinical Patient Coordinator

Colleen is a Kansas City native, growing up in Overland Park, Kansas. She graduated from Saint Louis University in 2013 with a bachelor's of science in Nursing. She has spent the last 10 years working in the operating room at various hospitals, starting her career at Saint Louis University Hospital. Colleen began travel nursing in 2016, going as far west as San Diego and as far east as Durham, North Carolina. She gained a variety of surgical experience before settling in Kansas City for good and joining our team at FACE Leawood in 2023. With an avid interest in aesthetics, Colleen strives to make all patients feel his or her best while cultivating new relationships and assisting Dr. Umstattd in surgery & clinic.

 

Katie Upton

Administrative Patient Coordinator

Katie was born and raised in Overland Park, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with her degree in Health and Human Nutrition. She has a passion for helping others strive to look and feel their personal best and find a new sense of confidence in themselves. Before joining the FACE Leawood team in 2023, she had a variety of roles in her professional career. Katie takes pride in being part of a team that values exceptional transparency and advocacy for patients. She is dedicated to creating a positive and welcoming environment for all. In her free time, Katie enjoys traveling and adding to her ever-growing plant collection.

Aimee Kryger

Nurse Practitioner

Aimee graduated from Saint Louis University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013 and then went on to complete her Master’s of Science in Nursing in 2018. She is a board certified family nurse practitioner. She has a background in Intensive Care, Surgery, Trauma and ENT. She has spent the past 6 years as a NP working in ENT surgery, both in the clinic and as a certified registered first assist in the OR. Aimee has a strong passion for facial aesthetics, preventative anti-aging treatments and skin care. She is excited to help patients meet their cosmetic goals in a multi-modality fashion to achieve natural results. Aimee stays busy outside of work with her husband, son, golden retriever and cat.

 

Danielle Lew

Surgical First Assist & Aesthetic Care Technician

Danielle has been a surgical technician in the Kansas City area since 2009, with a passion for helping patients heal and live the best lives they can. She spent most of her time at CenterPoint Medical Center in Independence before she transitioned into aesthetics in 2021. Her goal is to understand each client's needs as a basis to help tailor services, improving the way they look and feel, ultimately building confidence in themselves enabling a better life. She believes confidence is the most beautiful thing you can possess. Outside of her professional endeavors, Danielle is an active mother of two teenagers. She finds joy in cheering for her children at their sporting events.

Michelle Waddell

Nurse

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in 2005 and has spent the last 16 years caring for patients in both pediatrics and cardiac ICU. In 2020, she furthered her education by completing an MBA at UMKC, enhancing her leadership skills. Michelle enjoys an active lifestyle, participating in and coaching CrossFit. In her personal life, she is busy with her husband, their four children, and their family pet. Her enthusiasm for health and wellness brought her to FACE Leawood, where she finds joy in helping patients feel confident and comfortable during their surgical experience. She looks forward to applying her clinical skills to assist patients in reaching their goals and embracing their best selves.

 

Andrea Marks

Nurse

Earning her bachelor’s of science in Nursing, Andrea graduated from the University of Missouri in 2011. She worked as an ICU nurse for over 12 years, caring for patients in the PICU, before joining FACE Leawood in 2023. Andrea is a proud wife, mother of two children and their family dog. She enjoys personal wellness through running, yoga, and cooking. Whether preparing patients for surgery or helping them through recovery, Andrea’s goal is always the same: to provide compassionate, thorough care while cultivating a strong partnership with both patients and their support systems.

Dr. Laura Kaufman

Anesthesiologist

Dr. Kaufman is a board-certified Anesthesiologist. She has 12+ years of experience caring for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She graduated with honors as a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007 and has continued her education through her Applied Masters in Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality from John Hopkins University. Dr. Kauffman is passionate about evidence-based care and providing a comfortable and safe experience for all of our patients undergoing surgical procedures. She is a mother, wife, and avid marathon runner.
